Before going to the grocery store with Tony today, Alyson said that they were going to "go shopping food dinner".
When they were actually getting ready to go:
Alyson, showing Tony her mittens that were on backwards with the thumbs at her pinkies: Good?
Tony: If that's how you want them.
Alyson: Good enough!

Me to Tony: Are you going running tonight?
Alyson, before Tony could answer: Yes! Daddy running!
Me to Alyson: Are you going running?
Alyson: Me running bathroom later. (Meaning that she was going to run to the bathroom when it was time to brush her teeth.)

While eating dinner:
Alyson, pointing to my unopened side salad container: Open up.
Me: You want me to open my salad?
Alyson: Open the salad.
I took the container, but was having a little bit of trouble opening it because the "helpful" tabs were on opposite ends and didn't help with opening it.
Alyson, concerned: Hard to open?

The shirt Alyson was wearing today had two little pockets on the front near the hemline. When Mom went in to get her from her nap today, she had her hands in the pockets.
Mom: What's in your pockets?
Alyson: Hands.

We made homemade personal pizzas for dinner tonight. While they were cooking, Alyson wanted to see them. She also wanted front row seats at the oven door. Then, since the oven and pizza were hot, she pretended to blow on the pizza through the door and then eat her pizza with a loud chomping noise.

I didn't notice this until after I got back this morning from dropping the girls off at Mom's. When Alyson took her slippers off this morning to put her shoes on, she found the perfect place on top of her daddy's slippers.

Alyson slid down the stairs when she came back downstairs after getting her diaper changed this morning. As she walked through the dining room into the living room, she kept yelling, "Icy butt! Icy butt!" We were all laughing at her. She walked past Madelyn, who was sitting on the living room floor, stuck her butt out at her toward her face, and said, "See? ICY BUTT!"

While "playing" hide-and-seek this morning before going downstairs, Alyson was counting while Madelyn hid. In addition to the silliness of them hiding and counting in the same spots the entire time, Alyson's counting went something like, "One, three, nine, ten, eleven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, eating."

While I was fixing dinner, Madelyn and I were in the kitchen. Alyson was in the playroom.
Me, relatively quietly to Madelyn: Do you want buttered noodles or mac and cheese?
Madelyn, louder, but not too loud: Mac and cheese.
Alyson from the playroom: Mac and cheese for me! Mac and cheese for me!

Seeing that Madelyn was no longer in the bathroom: No....
Turning toward Madelyn's room and running in: In there?
Upon seeing Madelyn: Ninight!

We had asparagus tonight with dinner, which we know the girls don't really like (oh well). Madelyn ate all of hers quickly first to get it over with (she's learning!). Alyson wouldn't touch it after spitting the first bite out.
Alyson, pushing her plate toward me but only with asparagus on it: Mama help.
I put some asparagus on her spoon.
Alyson, hiding her face in her arms on the table: Not nice....
(Not sure what she had wanted me to do with her plate, but apparently it was not to put asparagus on her spoon.)

Alyson: Yes dizzy. More dizzy. Stony DIZZY!

Tony, taking the cup and "drinking" it: Mmmmm....this is good coffee.
Alyson: Hot! Blow it!
Tony: It was warm but it was good. Thank you.
Alyson: More?
Tony: Sure. I'll take some more.
Alyson walked back to the playroom and then came back with the cup again. She gave it to Tony.

While I was in the bathroom, I heard Alyson come out of the playroom looking for me:
"Mommy? Mommy?"
She must have come back down the hall from the living room and saw the closed bathroom door.
"In the potty!"

After dinner, Madelyn was playing in the living room while Alyson was still in her seat at the dining room table. Madelyn scooted/crawled into the dining room from the living room, heading straight for Alyson's chair.
Me to Madelyn: What are you doing?
Madelyn: Crawling around.
Alyson in all seriousness to Madelyn: Stop it!

While at Target today, I bought more vitamins for the girls. Alyson was excitedly showing her daddy the new vitamins.
Alyson, hugging the bottle: Hugging!
Me: Are you hugging the vitamins like a baby?
Alyson, cradling the bottle and rocking it back and forth: Rock a baby...
She then sang and rocked her vitamins for a few minutes until I guess they fell asleep.

Before getting ready for bed, Alyson was playing with a little panda that was in her room. She still had it when Tony put her on the changing pad to change her diaper.
Tony, as Alyson threw the panda on the floor: Oops, bear's all gone.
Alyson: Why?
Tony: Because you threw it on the floor.
Alyson: Bear nap.

Me: Do you want whipped cream with it?
Madelyn: I do!
Alyson, not to be left out: Me, too!!!!

We always take my car to Mass just because it's easier to get out in the direction we have to go. Often on the weekends, Tony takes the girls in his car to go to Starbucks. We walked to the car this morning to go to Mass, but Alyson kept going toward Tony's car.
Tony: Where are you going, Aly?
Alyson, smiling at Tony as if it was a silly question and he should know the answer: Shtarbucksh.

Alyson is a definite tease. While getting ready for bed tonight, Alyson took off one sock and handed it to me to unbunch. She took off the other sock and looked at her daddy. He put his hand out to take the sock from her. She looked right at him, smiled, reached her hand back toward me (I was standing behind her), and walked backward to give me the sock.
