We had our lawn aerated today, which left some dirt on the sidewalk. Both when Tony and Alyson came back from taking Madelyn to the bus this morning and when Alyson and I got back from Mom's after work, Alyson looked at the sidewalk and asked, "Why is it messy?"

Second

When I got to Mom's to pick up Alyson after work, Dad was sitting on the couch. Alyson walked over at one point and sat on his foot. It looked like she was bending his ankle at an awkward angle.

Me: You're going to hurt Grandpa's foot.
Alyson: No, just hurt his shoe!

Third

While waiting at the bus stop for Madelyn, Alyson wanted to zip up her jacket. She tried, but couldn't get the zipper started, so she asked for help, "Me not know how to get it together. Me a toddler!"

Madelyn: Does she want to have fun?
