14 February 2015

After dinner, Madelyn was playing in the living room while Alyson was still in her seat at the dining room table. Madelyn scooted/crawled into the dining room from the living room, heading straight for Alyson's chair.

Me to Madelyn: What are you doing?
Madelyn: Crawling around.
Alyson in all seriousness to Madelyn: Stop it!

13 February 2015

While at Target today, I bought more vitamins for the girls. Alyson was excitedly showing her daddy the new vitamins.

Alyson, hugging the bottle: Hugging!
Me: Are you hugging the vitamins like a baby?
Alyson, cradling the bottle and rocking it back and forth: Rock a baby...

She then sang and rocked her vitamins for a few minutes until I guess they fell asleep.

12 February 2015

Before getting ready for bed, Alyson was playing with a little panda that was in her room. She still had it when Tony put her on the changing pad to change her diaper.

Tony, as Alyson threw the panda on the floor: Oops, bear's all gone.
Alyson: Why?
Tony: Because you threw it on the floor.
Alyson: Bear nap.

11 February 2015

Alyson narrated her bedtime routine for her daddy tonight:

"Pink nap dapper on. Yotion on. Piggy jammas on. Slippers on. Bush teeth!"

(Translation: Pink nap diaper on. Lotion on. Piggy pajamas on. Slippers on. Brush teeth.)

10 February 2015

I made waffles for dinner tonight, complete with whipped cream that Madelyn helped me make using some left over whipping cream I had. There was one waffle left, so I asked the girls if they were wanted to take it to Grandma's for breakfast tomorrow.

Me: Do you want whipped cream with it?
Madelyn: I do!
Alyson, not to be left out: Me, too!!!!

09 February 2015

First

This morning when she woke up:

Alyson, standing in her crib looking around: Daddy! Baby?!
Me, walking into her room: What's wrong?
Alyson: Baby?
Me: You can't find your baby? Is she under the covers?
Alyson, just before I lifted up her covers: No....
Me: There she is!
Alyson: Baby doll hiding!

Second

Tony bought two flavors of coffee creamer this week and was asking me which one to keep here and which he should take to work.

Tony, to me: Do you want to keep Macadamia Brittle or Peppermint Mocha?
Alyson, before I could answer: Pepmin mocha!

Third

Just before I put Alyson down for bed, she nuzzled her face in my chest as if she was wiping her mouth all over me.

Alyson, lifting her face away and looking up at me and smiling: Mommy messy.
Me: Did baby get me messy?
Alyson: No.
Me: Did toddler get me messy?
Alyson: No.

Me: Did Alyson get me messy?
Alyson: No.

Me: Well then, why am I messy?
Alyson, looking at me for a few seconds, thinking about the question, and then smiling: Mommy hair messy.

08 February 2015

We always take my car to Mass just because it's easier to get out in the direction we have to go. Often on the weekends, Tony takes the girls in his car to go to Starbucks. We walked to the car this morning to go to Mass, but Alyson kept going toward Tony's car.

Tony: Where are you going, Aly?
Alyson, smiling at Tony as if it was a silly question and he should know the answer: Shtarbucksh.
