Before we came home today:

Alyson: What are we having for dinner?
Me: I don't know. What do you want for dinner?
Alyson, completely seriously: Cupcakes.
Me: You want cupcakes for dinner?
Alyson: I like cupcakes.

Second

As we were saying goodnight:

Alyson, dead serious: I need to tell you something.
Me: What?
Alyson: I'm thirsty.
