After I pulled out Madelyn's second tooth, I showed it to Alyson.

Me: Alyson, do you know what this is?
Alyson: I dunno.
Me: It's Madelyn's tooth!
Alyson, tentatively pointing to her own teeth: Madelyn's tooth? Why?

While I was fixing dinner, Alyson was following me around with a toy syringe sing-songingly chanting, "Do a shot on your butt! Do a shot on your butt!"

On the drive home today, we stopped for a potty break at a Starbucks and also let the girls get mini strawberry Frappuccinos. This conversation was repeated many, many times:

Alyson, sucking on her straw: It's not coming out!
Me/Tony: What do you need to do with it?
Alyson: Mix it!

She would take her straw and use it to poke around in her cup. Eventually she would try to drink it again.

Alyson, excited and surprised: It's coming out!

As Alyson walked past Nana and Poppop's dog on her way to her room for bed, "Doggie, good night. Doggie, good night. Good night, Lolly. Doggie no really talk."

While out for a walk today before dinner:

Alyson to Madelyn who was running up ahead of her: Gonna get you, Madelyn!

Alyson took off running, and Madelyn kept running, not seeming to notice Alyson yelling at her.

Alyson: Madelyn! Stop running!

While singing and cuddling before putting her down to bed, I yawned, which caused me to sing part of the song quietly.

Alyson: Why you quiet?
Me: I yawned.
Alyson: Why you yawn?
Me: I'm tired.
Alyson: You take a nap?
Me: No, but I'll go to bed in a little while.
Alyson: You take a nap right here in rocking chair. Close your eyes.

Alyson, whispering while looking up at Tony while they hugged: Me love you, Daddy.
Tony, whispering back: I love you, too, Alyson.
Alyson: Why you whisper?
Tony: Because you did. Why did you whisper?
Alyson: Want to.
